Robin Green

Robin W. Green is President of Hidden Creek, Limited and is responsible for the creation and development of Hidden Creek at the Darby, a unique 604 acre planned community located 18 minutes from downtown Columbus. Hidden Creek at the Darby has attracted local, regional and national attention as an innovative, model, environmentally sensitive development. Ms. Green speaks to groups across the country on the subject of environmental planning and development, including the recent Keep America Growing Conference. She also hosts numerous groups at Hidden Creek, including the International Biennial American Rivers Symposium and the Water and Soil Conservation and Environmental Protection Group from China. In addition to creating one of the most innovative, environmentally sensitive planned communities in the nation, Ms. Green has broken ground as one of only a handful of women developers in the real estate industry.

Ms. Green has received a number of national awards, including the National Association of Conservation Districtsí highest award in recognition of natural resource protection and enhancement at Hidden Creek at the Darby; the National Wetlands Award for extraordinary effort, innovation, and excellence in wetland conservation; and the International Society of Arboricultureís award for tree preservation and the advancement of arboriculture.

Selected by the Environmental Protection Agency as the first recipient in the nation for environmentally sensitive development under the WPCLF, Ms. Green has set aside over 230 acres as a nature preserve to protect Little Darby Creek, a National Wild and Scenic River. In addition, she has implemented one of the largest wetland restoration efforts in the State of Ohio.

She has approached "development" as an opportunity to preserve the pristine nature of the area through careful planning of this unique development - weaving a tapestry of man and nature living together next to a spectacular nature sanctuary. Prior, Ms. Green served as a corporate, real estate attorney with the international law firm of Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, consulting in real estate negotiations, development, planning and zoning and legislation. Ms. Green also served as Executive Director of the Ohio Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, an international organization recognized for conservation and management of the largest private nature preserve system in the world. During her tenure, she was responsible for coordinating the conservation, business, and land acquisition activities for Ohio and for representing the interests of Ohio throughout the U.S.

Her scholastic background includes a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from The Ohio State University College of Law, where she was selected to serve as Executive Editor of the Law Review. Her undergraduate work includes a BS in Agri/ Business from The Ohio State University. Green's background also includes serving in Michigan as District Manager of the Soil and Water Conservation District where she was recognized by the Governor of Michigan for her accomplishments in conservation and was commended by the State Extension Service for her work in the Soil and Water Conservation District.

Ms. Green was appointed by Ohio Governor Voinovich to the Environmental Quality Improvement Council and to the Governor's Blue Ribbon Task Force on Water Resources Planning and Development. She was appointed by Mayor Lashutka to the Columbus Environmental Services Advisory Committee and has served on the Madison County Farmland Preservation Task Force.

Ms. Green works with numerous school age groups to encourage education about the importance of conservation. She served on the Steering Committee for Project Reinvent for The Ohio State University and is a member of the Columbus Mortar Board National Honor Society Alumni and Commercial Real Estate Women. Ms. Green currently serves on the Columbus Zoo Board of Trustees and the Vice President's Advisory Council for the College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences for The Ohio State University.
